I picked up this volume of Captain Marvel form my library due to want to read more Marvel ladies comics; I was not disappointed. I had never read anything about or featuring Captain Marvel so I did not know what to expect. What I got was a relatable fierce heroine, who has a passion for help those in need. I enjoyed seeing Miss Carol Danvers interact with her different relationships, the additional members of the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the alien residing on planet Torfa.
Of the particular characters I enjoyed was the "Warlord Goddess" Jackie, an alien resident of Torfa also their chief engineer. I loved Jackie's fun and confident personality, and I enjoyed that she was in a romantic relationship with another female alien on Torfa. I love seeing a diverse strong woman character! The art style was lovely and brightly appealing. I loved the story, the art, the characters, even the dialogue was great. Overall I gave a four out of five star rating!

Captain Marvel, Vol. 2: Stay Fly (Captain Marvel, Vol. 8 (Marvel NOW!) Vol. 2: 7-11)

When I picked up volume one of Captain Marvel at my library I noticed they also carried volume two, so I grabbed. I enjoyed volume one, but volume two was fantastic! It had alien kitties, mutant rockstars, and Santa Claus! Every single issue included in volume two was entertaining, action packed, and straight up fun. In issue nine Captain Marvel is transported by a intergalactic rockstar mutant teleporter to aid her out of a marriage proposal in a placed called Aladna. What I found quite interesting was in Aladna the people speak in rhymes and although the women has freedom of to chose who they marry, men went married off by their parents instead.
I found this to be an interesting alternate world which differs from our own world's history of parents marring their daughters off with little choice of their own on the matter. I also found issue ten to be very entertaining I loved seeing Carol Danvers' loved one's different adventures while she has been away, it helped to establish her relationships she has with others in her life to the readers. I particularly enjoyed the Iron Patriot recalling when he had a vision of her when under extreme pressure in his suit. His vision of her although looked like her it looked like the most attractive version of her.
I thought his vision of Carol Danvers proves his admiration, and attraction to her as being authentic; I found it rather romantic. Such a great comic series, it leaves you wanting more fantastic adventure Captain Marvel goes on! And that is why I gave volume 2 a five out of five star rating!
